Sacha Jackson's tour guide, Moon Quebec City, provides detailed information on sites to visit in Quebec. I spent many hours reading and studying the guide and developed my tour plan based entirely on this guide and suggestions from the hotel concierge. From this perspective I would rate the guide with five stars. However, the font size was difficult to read while on the go and some of the restaurant information was outdated and these restaurants had closed two to three years prior to June 2017. Also, the guide book does not have many color maps and schematics which would have made it easier to use for reference while touring.
This book is outdated. Some restaurants it recommends were permanently closed, new ones not included, and our hotel which was recommended was awful. Lots of new attractions not included. Disappointing
I liked Ms. Jackson's book the best - nicely organized, very readable and interestingly informative both before and during our trip.I would definitely buy more of her books for future trips to other cities.
I was in Quebec City last week and this guide was invaluable - led us to some wonderful restaurants! And the history provided for the attractions was interesting and helped provide needed background. A couple places listed were closed/out of business but that's to be expected in a printed product that can't be instantly updated.
I bought this book just before traveling to Québec city. It helped us quite a lot in getting around the old city. I found the maps hard to use on my phone and tablet , but the information is interesting and enhanced the trip.
An excellent guide. It is thorough yet concise, well organized, and contains all the info I wanted for planning a trip to Quebec City (such as times, admission costs, and recommendations).
