I was anxious to gift this incredible, amazing book to my daughter, who admires Walt Disney, like millions of others throughout the world. as a 'special needs' child with learning disabilities, her attention span was excellent as we read through this book together. To my daughter, this book is a 'keepsake' that she will treasure. For myself, I also admire Walt Disney, so this was a great conversational piece for quality time well spent. After 8 visits to Disney World from N.Y. to Orlando, and a trip to Disneyland, we were able to remember the great achievements of Walt Disney.The author highlights Walt Disney's life from childhood, to his huge success. She discusses his extraordinary imagination, and great curiosity that led him to become a cartoonist. Included in the delightful pages of this book, Grace Norwich discusses Walt Disney's career as an animator; film producer; director; screenwriter; and more. In addition, the author tells about Walt Disney's voice, his acting, Walt Disney as an entrepreneur and entertainer. My 7 yr old requested this book so that she could read it on our long road trip to disney world. She LOVED it ! And she learned a lot of Walt...so much so that when we when on the "One Man's Dream" attraction in Hollywood Studios - she knew a lot of the info already :)
Bought this for my son for a biography report and he really enjoyed it! He's in fourth grade and the reading was quick and completely understandable. Fun organization and anecdotes.

My 9 year old daughter had to do a biography report on someone. This was a wonderful book to help her. It was perfect for her reading level, but still gave her a complete overview of Walt Disney's life.
I loved this book it was so cool to learn about Walt and how his life went even though I'm in the sixth grade!I had to read a biography for my social studies class and had so much fun doing my project I would totally recommend this book!

My son was a bit young to get through the entire book, but I found it interesting and it was a great way to remember Disney vacation!
