We are using this as part of our science curriculum. It goes through putting dirt in egg shells, planting a seed (what a seed needs to grow), and then digging a seed up every so often to check the progress. It is worded so that children ages 3-7 could use it (in my opinion). We re-read each day that we dig up a seed until the seeds left have become seedlings/plants. The kids never get tired of it, and in fact usually are excited to 1. state what is needed for a plant to grow and 2. guess/remember the next stage of the process.
My kindergartner enjoyed reading this book to her little sister and me the other day. The language is easy enough for her to sound out the words with a fairly good flow when she comes across unfamiliar ones. The story and illustrations are cute as well as educational, and inspired the right questions about seeds, growing things and gardening. It was the perfect companion to our project that day, which was to plant an indoor herb garden.
Returned. Not pleased. Mostly a step by step on how to grow bean seeds and look at the growth each day. Not really about plants and seeds as a whole.
Cute book with good activities to add to the learning
I love this book! 4 year old loves it! I enjoyed "Let's read and learn about science" books growing up. This Series is still the best!

Informative but boring
my daughter loves books; I mean she really LOVES to read. So it's a huge flag that she couldn't get passed the second page. I'd return it, but I'd have to pay shipping, and would really only get a couple dollars back. I might try to give it away as a gift.
