It is not exactly what I was needing for someone who is just a new computer person, however it will be something that they will hopefully find beneficial once they have gotten used to how to use the laptop. The information I was initially looking for was something that started with the very basics from turning it on and the first few steps on what to do next he has never been on a computer in his life and needed a lot of help and guidance, but he'll get there eventually.
This book is like all the "dummies" books, helpful, but with more information than you'll ever need. I bought a laptop with Windows Vista and felt I needed a little help in figuring it all out. And it was helpful. I always think these books are pretty good investments.
I am pretty proficient on the PC's at work and at home, but I have never used a laptop and am wanting to get one soon. This book is just what I needed. It arrived faster than estimated and in relatively good (for used) condition.
Like all books in this series it is infuriatingly largeand difficult to get to know -- but once the referencehas been found quite informative. "Not for the faint-hearted."
