We have had this book less than 6 months. The buttons are a little hard for little hands to push and the binding has cracked exposing the wires. Would not recommend for little readers.
My son loves this. Since this arrived he doesn't seem as drawn to noisy farm so his preference is clear.I love that animals like lions and penguins are included to broaden my young one's exposure.If purchasing for a 9 month old be sure to have the duct tape ready because at this age my son felt it was his duty to try to pull it apart to investigate the wires. A quick daddy-repair and he returns to this daily to hear the animals. A great purchase.
My almost 2 year old has a very hard time pressing the buttons, which causes a bit of frustration. I like that the pictures of the animals are real images instead of illustrations as that's what the majority of his board books depict. We've had this book for more than a year and my son still enjoys looking at it every now and then. The pages are really durable and we've had no problem with the sound working.
Arrived and did not work. No sounds. For $10+ dollars I would have expected it to come with batteries? Also I'm disappointed in the buttons I highly doubt even if it worked my 9 month old son could push them himself.
The book did not work when we tried pressing the animals sounds. The book is supposed to come with 3- 1.5 batteries included . However I couldn’t open the battery compartment using my smallest screwdriver, therefore I don’t know if there were batteries in it or nou Very disappointed and will be sending the book back .
Overall the book is cute. We got the farm animal book as a gift and my daughter liked it so much I thought I'd buy this. Only 4 stars because the volume on it is very low. Like I said we have the farm animal version and it's much louder. I'm sure if I change out the batteries it'll be ok but for a new book to have to replace the batteries kinda stinks.
This is a good book, and I like the variety of animals. The buttons, unfortunately, require a little too much precision for her baby fingers. Instead of the entire surface of the button triggering the noise, there is a small, specific spot in the center of each button that the baby has to push, and it requires a little more force than you want. As a result, I end up having to activate the sounds for her, which sort of defeats the purpose. However, she'll learn how to do it eventually, so I'm still satisfied with the purchase.
My son LOVES this book. We have all of these and they are his favorite series of books. He loves turning the pages and pressing the buttons. When we bring it out we read it probably ten times in a row!
